Accessing BreEZe for Corporations and Limited Liability Companies (LLCs)

On November 1st, the Bureau of Security & Investigative Services (BSIS) mailed a letter to all licensees organized as corporations or limited liability companies (LLCs) requesting the submission of the company’s FEIN in preparation for the Bureau’s transition to BreEZe. As previously discussed in the letter, BSIS is scheduled to transition to BreEZe, the Department of Consumer Affairs’ online licensing and enforcement system in mid-January 2016.  Some of the many benefits of BreEZe include, but are not limited to, the ability to renew a license(s) online and pay online using a credit card in a secure environment.

If your company is organized as a corporation or limited liability company and you plan on using the online benefits of the new BreEZe system listed above, you must submit the Federal Employer Identification Number (FEIN) that is associated with your company’s BSIS issued license number. If a company has multiple licenses, it must submit the FEIN for each of those licenses. The FEIN is required to create the unique user ID and password necessary to access your current licensing information.

If you have not yet submitted your company’s FEIN to BSIS and wish to access BreEZe immediately after the Bureau’s transition in mid-January, submit ALL of the following information via email (bsis@dca.ca.gov) or by fax (916-575-7287):

  1. The company’s name, as written on the BSIS issued license
  2. The company’s address of record
  3. The email and direct phone number for the company’s contact person
  4. The FEIN associated with ALL license number(s) held by the company

If you have already sent the Bureau your company’s FEIN, you DO NOT need to re-submit the information.

The Bureau will continue to provide updates regarding its transition to BreEZe in the coming weeks. For more information on the transition to BreEZe, click here.

Questions regarding the transition to BreEZe may be sent by e-mail to bsis@dca.ca.gov.
