  1. BSIS License Application Status Questions: On average, it takes about 60 days for the Bureau to process a registration/firearm permit license application. While not required, providing your date of birth and/or last four digits of your social security number helps expedite our research. You may also provide your telephone number to assist us in contacting you. Please allow two to three business days for the Bureau to carry out the needed research and to provide a response.
  2. General BSIS Licensing Questions: If requesting information relating to BSIS laws or regulations, please note that it may require Bureau staff to conduct research of the issue. It may take up to five business days for Bureau staff to research and compose the response.
